Dissolved iodide in marine waters determined with Diffusive Gradients in Thin-films technique

چکیده

For the first time, Diffusive Gradient in Thin-films (DGT) focuses on inorganic iodine species iodate (IO3−) and iodide (I−). A silver-doped Cl resin (AgdCl), which is known to selectively accumulate I−, was used make a binding gel. Laboratory investigations were designed verify suitability of AgdCl-DGT method measure total I− concentration environmental waters. Total recovery obtained using an elution solution containing 100 mmol L−1 KCN. DGT validation experiments 10 NaCl showed linear accumulation over contrary IO3−, thus confirming selectivity AgdCl-binding The measurement independent pH (4.5–8.8) not impacted by presence bicarbonate (1–5 L−1). Finally, performance samplers tested two continental waters synthetic seawater. measured 27–33% up 24 h deployment whereas response retrieved seawater 72 (106 ± 7%). difference attributed low ionic strength waters, limiting application media with higher strength.

Uncertainty Evaluation of the Diffusive Gradients in Thin Films Technique

Although the analytical performance of the diffusive gradients in thin films (DGT) technique is well investigated, there is no systematic analysis of the DGT measurement uncertainty and its sources. In this study we determine the uncertainties of bulk DGT measurements (not considering labile complexes) and of DGT-based chemical imaging using laser ablation - inductively coupled plasma mass spec...

Evaluation of diffusive gradients in thin-films using a Diphonix® resin for monitoring dissolved uranium in natural waters.

Commercially available Diphonix(®) resin (TrisKem International) was evaluated as a receiving phase for use with the diffusive gradients in thin-films (DGT) passive sampler for measuring uranium. This resin has a high partition coefficient for actinides and is used in the nuclear industry. Other resins used as receiving phases with DGT for measuring uranium have been prone to saturation and sig...

Activated charcoal based diffusive gradients in thin films for in situ monitoring of bisphenols in waters.

Widespread use of bisphenols (BPs) in our daily life results in their elevated concentrations in waters and the need to study their environmental impact, which demands reliable and robust measurement techniques. Diffusive gradients in thin films (DGT) is an in situ passive sampling approach which provides time-integrated data. In this study we developed a new methodology, based on DGT with acti...

diffusive gradients in thin-films (dgt), a new technique in predicting soil bio-availability of mineral elements for plants

total concentrations of mineral elements in soil bear little relation to their availability for plants. the dgt (diffusive gradients in thin-films) technique has been found to be a good predictor of trace metals, micronutrients, phosphorous and potassium bio-availability and uptake. in the dgt technique, elements are accumulated on a binding gel after their diffusive transport through a hydroge...

Novel diffusive gradients in thin films technique to assess labile sulfate in soil

A novel diffusive gradients in thin films (DGT) technique for sampling labile soil sulfate was developed, based on a strong basic anion exchange resin (Amberlite IRA-400) for sulfate immobilization on the binding gel. For reducing the sulfate background on the resin gels, photopolymerization was applied instead of ammonium persulfate-induced polymerization. Agarose cross-linked polyacrylamide (...
